Rising from the Ashes: My Journey to Strength and Purpose
Looking back, I’m grateful for every hardship, every setback, and every moment I was dragged through the fire. It was in the potholes and detours of life that I discovered my true strength and resilience. Without those challenges, I wouldn’t be the person I am today.
For years, I had to fight—first for myself, and then for my children—against circumstances beyond my control. But through every battle, we didn’t just survive; we thrived. The lessons were hard, but they were necessary. Life could have broken me, but it shaped me into someone stronger, wiser, and more determined.
During the final stages of my divorce, I made a bold move: I opened my store, ArtSea Living. This June marks 22 years since that moment, and looking back, I realize it was more than just a business—it was my sanctuary, my soul’s restoration. Art has that power. It heals, uplifts, and connects us to others in profound ways. I was blessed to meet incredible people who supported me, and in turn, I had the honor of giving new artists their first platform. That simple act of paying it forward helped launch countless creative careers, and I couldn’t be prouder.
Today, I am a fierce advocate for women and a defender of humanity. I believe that trust is sacred, that secrets should be kept, and that judgment often stems from deep, unhealed wounds. Gossip is a disEASE, spreading like wildfire, leaving destruction in its wake. Friendship, on the other hand, is a fragile gift—one that must be nurtured and protected. A single lie, one broken confidence, can shatter it forever.
If you find yourself in a dark season, please hold on. I promise you, there is light at the end of the tunnel. One day, you’ll stand at a crossroads, faced with a choice: to remain a victim of your circumstances or to rise as a victor.
Choose strength. Choose resilience. Choose to step into the life waiting for you on the other side. IT IS YOUR CHOICE what you do with the turmoil. I say, let it give you courage, fortitude, and resilience. Let it mold you from the inside out. And above all else, let it heal you and make you a better version of yourself. It’s a choice.
