Ceramic Napkin rings

$50 per student, minimum of 4 students

Students will learn how to make 6 ceramic napkin rings. I will be giving instruction on how to make a few different options to choose from such as a flower, or starfish. They will be introduced on how to work with slabs of clay and rolling pins. The class will focus on construction techniques in the first part of the workshop. The second half will focus on decorative techniques using different textures tools. All clay and tools will be provided. Students will be welcomed back to glaze pieces during open studio times. There is an additional fee to paint them and re-fire. Beginners are welcome.

Info. about Clay and Glazes: Students will be using a stoneware clay. The clay will fire to more of a light gray hue compare to a white porcelain clay. Ceramic projects will need dry for about one week before glazes. Once you glaze your pieces they will need to be fired in the kiln again. When you are come back to glaze there will be an additional $15. Please keep in mind that glaze results vary. When glazing it is recommended to apply 3 layers of glaze.
